Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been placed on the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most-wanted list. In connection with a recent shooting incident near Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai, the NIA has announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for Anmol Bishnoi’s capture.
Anmol Bishnoi’ Previous Case Involvements
The NIA registered a case in 2022 against nine individuals, including the Bishnoi brothers, for allegedly conspiring to “raise funds, recruit youth to carry out terrorist acts in Delhi and other regions” and plotting “targeted killings of prominent figures.” Lawrence Bishnoi, currently held at Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati Central Jail, and Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar were also named as key accused in the April shooting outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence.

Police Action in Navi Mumbai and Uncovered Plot
Following the Bandra shooting incident, Navi Mumbai police apprehended five members of the Bishnoi gang, identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap alias Nahvi, Gaurav Bhatia, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, Rizwan Khan alias Javed, and Deepak Hawa Singh alias John. In June, police disclosed a discovered plot to target Khan while he traveled to his farmhouse in Panvel, Navi Mumbai.
Connection to Baba Siddique Murder Case
Anmol Bishnoi’s name has also surfaced in the murder investigation of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was shot dead in Mumbai on October 12. The incident took place outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique.
Details of the April 14 attack on Salman Khan’s residence emerged in a detailed chargesheet, which described a 9-minute speech allegedly delivered by Anmol Bishnoi. Reportedly operating from abroad, Bishnoi encouraged the shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, aiming to “script history” with their actions.

The chargesheet indicates that the plan was orchestrated over several months, from August 2023 to April 2024, with the Bishnoi gang seeking to acquire advanced weaponry, including AK-47s, AK-92s, M16 rifles, and Turkish-made Zigana pistols, the latter linked to the murder of Punjabi singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala in 2022.
Further investigations reveal that nearly 60-70 individuals were part of an extensive surveillance network tracking Salman Khan’s movements, including monitoring his Mumbai residence, his Panvel farmhouse, and Film City in Goregaon.
