In a troubling development, Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently received a threatening message demanding ₹5 crore to resolve a long-standing feud with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. However, just days later, the Mumbai police received an apology from the same sender, who claimed the message had been “sent by mistake.”
Threatening Message Sent to Traffic Control Room
The initial threat was transmitted to the Mumbai Traffic Police control room on October 18. The sender, allegedly linked to Bishnoi’s gang, warned that Khan’s life would be in jeopardy if the extortion money was not paid. The message read, “Don’t take it lightly. If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and wishes to end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he must pay ₹5 crore. If the money is not provided, Salman Khan’s situation will be worse than Baba Siddique’s.”
Sender Tracked to Jharkhand
Following the threatening message, the Mumbai police traced the sender’s location to Jharkhand. A few days after the initial threat, the same number sent another message, in which the individual apologized and claimed that the threat had been issued in error.
Police Action Taken Against The Threat
In response to the threat, the Worli Police have initiated a case related to the message received by the Mumbai Traffic Police. This incident has drawn attention, particularly in light of the recent murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, raising concerns about the ongoing issues of gang-related threats in the film industry.
