Volkswagen Unveils the Dynamic Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport Variants!

The new Virtus sporty variant from Volkswagen India has hit the market just in time for the festive season. These new variants have arrived in the baits of Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport, priced at Rs 14.07 lakh and Rs 17.84 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Volkswagen now also brings in the Highline Plus variant of Virtus as well as a new package in Taigun GT Line.

Sporty Design Enhancements

The new versions of the Volkswagen Virtus have styling updates that are reminiscent of those on the other GT Line models by Volkswagen. Some of the notable visual updates include smoked headlamps with LED lights and the new option for the Carbon Steel Grey roof. The GT Plus version does not lack any styling, as it starts off with a GT badge at the grille while striking red brake calipers add their sporty touch on the same. Other dynamic features of this car are their 16-inch black alloy wheels and several black accents on its body.

Interior Overhaul for a Sportier Presentation

Inside, the Virtus has a fresh and sleekly new design with black leatherette on the seats, and its stylish interior gets red stitching. A glossy black finish dominates the dashboard, while aluminum pedals and a black headliner take center stage. To add an extra dose of sportiness, GT branding adorns the front headrests and interwoven through the steering wheel along with red stitching.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, Virtus GT Line uses the engine body of 1.0-litre TSI, which combines 113 bhp with 178 Nm of torque. The sport GT variant, on the other hand, is paired with a more potent 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, that integrates 148 bhp and also produces 250 Nm peak torque. Both the variants are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission, and for the TSI, an optional 6-speed torque converter is also available. It gets a 1.5-litre EVO engine and 7-speed DSG for a more dynamic driving experience.

Price of Highline Plus Variant

The Virtus’s Highline Plus variant is priced at Rs 14.26 lakh (ex-showroom). The Taigun variant is the closest and costs Rs 13.87 lakh (ex-showroom). This too comes with a 1.0-litre TSI engine.
