YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, widely recognized as MrBeast, has enlisted the services of Alex Spiro, a renowned celebrity lawyer known for representing figures like Elon Musk, Mick Jagger, Jay-Z, and Alec Baldwin. According to a report by The Daily Mail, MrBeast has turned to Spiro to defend himself against recent accusations labeling him a “sociopath.” Alex Spiro, a partner at the prestigious law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, reportedly charges $2,000 per hour for his legal expertise.
Internal Audit and Scandal Response
The report suggests that MrBeast has hired Spiro not only to combat these allegations but also to conduct an internal audit of his company, which has been entangled in several controversies. One of Spiro’s primary tasks will be addressing the claims made by Dawson French, a former employee of MrBeast, who has accused him of being a “sociopath” and a “fraud” on his YouTube channel, DogPack404, which boasts over 600,000 subscribers.
Legal Action Against Dawson French
According to the report, Spiro has already initiated legal action against Dawson French, sending him a cease-and-desist letter. The letter claims that French was employed by MrBeast for only three weeks before being terminated for what even French described as “inappropriate” conduct. Additionally, the letter accuses French of spreading “false and defamatory allegations” and violating a non-disclosure agreement by making disparaging remarks about MrBeast’s company.
Accusations and YouTube Videos
Dawson French has been vocal about his grievances with MrBeast on his YouTube channel. In a video titled “I Worked for MrBeast, He’s a Sociopath,” French alleges that MrBeast created a toxic work environment. In another video, “I Worked For MrBeast, He’s A Fraud,” French discusses the case involving Ava Kris Tyson, a close friend of MrBeast and a host on his show, who was accused of engaging in sexually explicit conversations with a minor. As of July 2024, this video had garnered over 14.7 million views.
